NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

You are hereby notified that the Town Council of the Town of Kentland, Indiana, will hold a public hearing at 7:00p.m. on February 9th, 1999, at the Kentland Town Hall, Kentland, Indiana, at which users of the water works, owners of property served or to be served by the water works, and other interested persons may be heard concerning the proposed water rate increases.

You are further notified that the Kentland Town Council proposes the following ordinance change which was first introduced at the Town Council meeting on December 12th, 1998.

 

 ORDINANCE NO. 99-2-9

An Ordinance to Amend Article 2, Section 9-22
and Section 9-23 of the Code of the
Town of Kentland, Indiana

The Kentland Town Board of Trustees ORDAINS that:

1. Just and equitable fees must be established to maintain the water works in a sound physical and financial condition necessary to render adequate and efficient service.

2. It is now necessary to readjust the fees for minimum monthly water service provided by the Town. The fees shown below will be effective with the first billing period after the adoption of this Ordinance.

3. The following schedule of fees shall be adopted and the Code of the Town of Kentland, Indiana shall be amended to reflect such fees:

 

SEC. 9-22 Charges for Quarterly Usage

Charges for quarterly usage shall be as follows:

QUARTERLY USAGE

RATES PER 100 CUBIC FEET
First 2000 cubic feet $1.62
Next 4000 cubic feet $1.44
Next 6000 cubic feet $1.26
Over 12000 cubic feet

SEC. 9-23 Waterworks Minimum Charge

Each user shall pay a minimum charge in accordance with applicable size of meter installed for which the user will be entitled to quantity of water set out in the above schedule of rates.

These amended water usage rates shall become effective following the Town Council meeting scheduled for February 9th, 1999 at 7:00p.m.
